Deleting Your Whysual Account

Learn how to request account and data deletion from Whysual

We respect your privacy and your right to delete your account. This page explains how to request account deletion and what data will be affected.

If you only want to delete your data without deleting your account, visit our Manage Data page. You can delete specific journeys or all your data while keeping your account active.

How to Request Account Deletion

In the Whysual App:

  1. Open the Whysual app on your mobile device (Android or iOS)
  2. Go to your account settings or profile menu
  3. Look for "Delete Account" or "Privacy & Security" section
  4. Select "Request Account Deletion"
  5. Confirm your request and provide your email address
  6. You'll receive a confirmation email with further instructions

Via Email:

  1. Send an email to support@whysual.com
  2. Include the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
  3. Provide your account email address and full name
  4. Briefly explain that you want to delete your account
  5. We will respond within 7 business days with confirmation

Via Web Form:

If you have a web account, you can also request deletion through your account settings page by navigating to the privacy and data section.

What Gets Deleted

Permanently Deleted:

  • Your account profile and login credentials
  • All your journeys, goals, and tasks
  • All task history and completion records
  • Your dependency mappings and roadmaps
  • Profile information (name, profile picture, preferences)
  • AI-generated recommendations and personalization data
  • Any team or shared blueprint associations
  • Your chat history and support tickets

Data Not Deleted:

  • Billing records (kept for accounting and tax compliance)
  • Payment transaction history (required by financial regulations)
  • Legal records related to your account (if applicable)
  • Anonymized usage analytics (no personal information attached)

Data Retention After Deletion

Immediate Deletion:

Most of your personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your deletion request. This includes:

  • All journeys and personal data stored in the app
  • Your account profile and settings
  • Device sync records and offline data

Extended Retention (Legal Compliance):

The following data is retained for legal and compliance purposes:

  • Billing Data: Retained for 7 years (tax and accounting compliance)
  • Payment Records: Retained for 7 years (financial regulations)
  • Legal Records: Retained for 10 years (dispute resolution and legal protection)

AI and Analytics Data:

Any anonymized analytics data (which cannot be linked back to you) may be retained indefinitely to improve our services. This data does not contain any personally identifiable information and cannot identify you.

Important Information

Account Recovery:

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account is deleted, you will not be able to recover your journeys, tasks, or any other personal data. If you're unsure about deleting your account, you can also choose to simply stop using Whysual instead.

For Team Users:

If you're part of a Whysual Team plan, deleting your account will:

  • Remove you from all team workspaces
  • Delete your personal journeys and tasks
  • Remove your access to shared blueprints
  • Retain shared team data (other members' journeys remain intact)

AI Credit Refunds:

Unused AI credits in your account at the time of deletion will not be refunded. Please use or transfer any remaining credits before requesting deletion. For Team accounts, contact our support team for credit management.

Timeline and Confirmation

Here's what to expect after submitting your deletion request:

24 hours You'll receive a confirmation email
7 days All personal data is deleted from active servers
30 days Final deletion from all backup systems
